Indow Window Inserts
The company uses a compression tubing as the frame of the insert, along with an acrylic glazing. The inserts are more flexible than a traditional storm window and can form fit much better inside an existing window frame. The local company will come out and measure your openings using a laser to get exact measurements. Many older window openings are not perfectly square and so a custom fitting insert is a huge advantage in terms of looks, performance and noise reduction.
The company offers 7 different products, including their standard, Privacy, Acoustic, Blackout, Shade, Commercial and Museum grade inserts. Each option can be custom ordered and is installed in the exact same way.
Indow Window Costs
The standard insert will run $20 to $25 per square foot, which means a medium opening of 24″ by 36″ will run $120 to $150, while a large opening of 36″ by 48″ will run $240 to $300 (not including the install cost). The local company that comes out and measures the opening, orders the window and installs the insert will typically charge per window and this will obviously depend on the company. A fair charge for the service is $25 to $75 per window with a minimum of 5 windows.
The next grade of Indow inserts, which includes the Privacy, Acoustic, Blackout and Shade options will run $25 to $30 per square foot, which means a medium opening of 24″ by 36″ will run $150 to $180 (not including the install cost), while a large opening of 36″ by 48″ will run $300 to $360 (not including the install cost). The final grade of Indow Windows includes the Commercial and Museum inserts that will run $30 to $35 per square foot, which means a medium opening of 24″ by 36″ will run $180 to $210 (not including the install cost), while a large opening of 36″ by 48″ will run $360 to $420 (not including the window install cost).
