Midway Windows Reviews

Midway Windows And Doors is a Chicago based company that specializes in replacement windows and doors throughout Illinois and several surrounding states. More specifically, Midway services Chicagoland, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The company has been in business since the mid 1960s. Scroll down to read our Midway Windows reviews and ratings.

Midway is part of Alliance Window Systems, which is a group of window companies that all source their windows and doors from the same place. This allows smaller distributors to get price discounts that otherwise would not be available to them. In turn, they can offer more competitive pricing to their customers – a great concept, especially given how many smaller window companies are being bought up by bigger players in the industry as of late.

Midway Windows: Midway sells the Windgate (new construction), Belmont (their base model vinyl window) and the Hawthorne (upgraded vinyl window). I might suggest staying away from the Belmont, but endorse both the Windgate and the Hawthorne options.

Bottom Line: Midway is a good option for quality vinyl windows, doors, and installation. I would suggest getting a bid from them if they service your area.

Company Rating: 7.8 out of 10

Midway Windows Reviews 2024

Bill, Midway recently gave us a bid on their Hawthorne series (they claimed it’s the best they have). An Okna rep also gave us a bid on their Starmark (also claimed it was the best, of course, right???). The Okna bid was quite a bit more expensive – $300 more per window. Is that price delta worth it??? Seems like an awful lot to spend if the two windows are close to one another. Love to hear your response and thank you.

Chuck, the Okna Starmark is the better window over the Hawthorne. This much is true. Incidentally, the Starmark is a composite window frame, while the Hawthorne is vinyl (just fyi). However, I don’t think that $300 more per window is worth the money – unless you plan to live in this house for the rest of your life. If that’s the case, then the Starmark is worth it. I’d put the price difference at $175 to $200 myself between the Starmark and Midway Hawthorne window. Does this help?
